Packing Tips

The great thing about a cruise is once you are on the ship you unpack and then you can enjoy your days.  You drop your bags off at the check in point at the cruise terminal and a few hours later your bags are outside your room.  You only need to pack again before you leave. Luggage is usually left outside your cabin the night before departure.  The pick up section is easily sign posted and you will have a number of where to collect your bags.  I have found it a smooth process each time.

We are a family of four - 2 adults and 2 girls 10yr & 6yrs so you can see this was our luggage.

I found packing the following for each person was good for 10 days with one washing on the trip.  Of course it depends where you are going and the time of year.  Just think about the weather forecast for where you are going, what activities you might be doing and how you feel most comfortable.
  • swimwear - 2-3 sets
  • cover up top/dress or sarong for pool areas
  • hat - wide brim one that fold up is great to put in a bag
  • good quality sunscreen - 50 + SPF
  • Thongs or casual slip on shoes
  • comfy walking shoes
  • Nice pair of evening shoes
  • beach shoes are also good if you have
  • Dresses (for females) 3 or 4 casual and 2-3 evening
  • T-Shirts  - 5-6
  • Shorts / shirts - 4-5
  • socks - 3-4
  • underwear 5-6 sets
  • PJs/Night - 2
  • long pants/tights/jeans - 2-3  (it can get cold)
  • Long sleeve top - 2
  • Cardigan/jumpers - 2-3
  • Raincoat
